Annual Meeting The Island of Friends
In 2006 the Fund launched one of its projects – the meeting The Island of Friends. Treatment of oncological diseases is a very complex and time-consuming process that leaves its mark on each aspect of child‘s life: physical health, psychological well-being, relationship with family members and friends.
The aim of this meeting is to bring families that share the same lot in life together, encouraging them to share social and medical information, experiences, thoughts and emotions and to enjoy being together. During the event we make sure children have a special day where they enjoy various shows, play with their beloved celebrities and spend time with their fellow hospital mates in an environment other than a hospital.
